Last
Saturday my husband and I had the treat of attending a benefit concert
at the Woman's Club
in Laguna Beach which featured the reggae singer Pato Banton.
This man has a real musical ministry
going on. The energy was high and positive and the man and
his music played by the Mystic River
Band was moving and uplifting.
After his performance he invited any who
were interested to join him in a prayer circle out back.
A large group (30 - 40) congregated outside and Pato led us all in
giving thanks to the Father and
then each in the circle spoke their own individual prayer of
thanks. After Pato closed the prayer circle
we all departed while still feeling this abundance of good vibrations.
If you ever have a chance to
hear this man and his music, I highly recommend it.

Hi Norman,
We had a Pato Party here in Portland when
he came through our city. It was great!
He
is such a spiritual man! And his concert was
wonderful. It was like one big extended musical worship
celebration. Thanks so much for telling us about
it.

Senor Pato,
Thank you for your kind words of
encouragement. We have only in the last few months made connections
between the different U. B. groups. Of course your concert has now left
us more connected than ever. It also made us feel special and gave us
hope that our Father's work is happening all the time and in many
different ways that we cannot conceive of.
If and when u do come back to the west
coast please see if u could stay a little longer to share your vision
and to let us hear what other groups in England or elsewhere are doing
with their vision of the UB movement. I know that I will see u at the
international conf in San Diego if not before.
Keep up all of your wonderful efforts to
help bring out the best in all. Thank you Senor Pato.
May all of Allah's blessings be with you
and your loved ones.

Dear
Pato,
Thank
you for the blessing of your presence at Kindred Spirits last
month. I think it was the openness of your heart,
and the universal nature of the love you expressed that so effected
everyone here. Especially in relation to the young
men here there was a catalytic effect. They were
reinvigorated and re-inspired to believe in themselves and move forward
with their lives. Each one of them have made real life
changing decisions to follow their dreams, and the guidance of their
indwelling spirit. The words, "Stay Positive", and "Never
Give In", will always be in our hearts and
minds. Thanks again Pato, and God's speed in your work to
spread the Good News!
Your
Brother Always,

Dear
Norman,
I
recently experienced the privilege of attending an amazing prayer
circle after Pato Banton's concert in Ventura. After an exceptionally
inspirational performance with the best audience participation I have
witnessed as of yet. Pato invited those who were inclined to take part
in a prayer circle in a parking lot behind the venue after the show.
Richard Omura and I went to the designated spot between two old brick
buildings and the trash dumpsters. I had expected maybe a dozen people
to show up. What happened next was nothing short of a miracle.
After
20 minutes or so, at least 70 people were there! These individuals
represented a cross section of all Americans. From the very young to a
few seniors. Black, White, Brown and Yellow. The affluent and a couple
of "street people," all joining hands in some sort of primeval
desperation for this troubled world.
After
a brief yet touching prayer lead by Pato, each individual shared in
their own unique way, their personal hopes, dreams, tribulations and
even a couple of songs. Exposing themselves to complete
strangers brought together through Pato's music. Time seemed to stand
still during the experience. Even the frequent drive by's of the local
Police could not disturb the Divine momentum. When the last person
finished it was after 3:00am!
A
fascinating footnote; the next couple of days, I felt none of the aches
and pains from the sports injuries of my youth. Just a coincidence? I
think not.

Hi Pato,
I just want to thank you for all that you
do. You are a good example of what The Urantia Book says we should all
do: go forth and be living Jesuses, living and teaching the
truth with our own words and actions.
You do your personal outreach very well
and it is an inspiration to me. I want to see more people in the
Urantia movement become such living ambassadors. I have been trying in
my own way for many years but would like to reach a broader audience. I
sincerely appreciate the help you have offered in this regard.
Anyway, blessings on your current tour and
I hope to see you again soon.
In friendship,
Richard Omura

Recently
we had the pleasure of having Pato Banton visit our study group in
Irvine, CA. Our study group has been meeting for 17 years and
has a steady following. But with the announcement
that Pato was coming and that we would have plenty of food and social
time, we had a full house. With a house full of readers, we had a short
but focused study of special passages from the Urantia Book that we had
various people read, then a prayer and worship session that was quite
memorable and special, and then sharing and social time.
Many
study groups tend not to have moments of prayer or worship, considering
prayer a more private thing. Pato has a unique and
comfortable approach to prayer and worship and shares it with the study
groups he visits. Our Irvine study group is
incorporating more of this in our meetings and we enjoy it very much.
For the good of all.
If
Pato is in your area, invite him to join your study group. He
is interested in meeting as many readers and study group hosts as he
can over the next year. It is wonderful reason to
get readers together in study, prayer, worship, social
time, and you might even get a song or two from Pato, all you
have to do is ask!
